WARNING! "Peeping Tom" underscores a chase sequence inspired by Laurel's erotic, torch-lit, dance in Changeling's Return. It remains in the screenplay and will likely remain in the movie, but within the story there is concern that the song, out of context, might seem to celebrate violent, misogynistic behavior, and therefore it is cut from Mystical Encounter in the story (and also from the album currently in release). Labeled EXPLICIT, not for its language, but for its brutish content, it is posted here, especially for readers, filmmakers, and collectors familiar with the section of Changeling's Return, "His Secrets All Revealed." I met my first California fan, Chuck Monda, in 1968, when he was a student at Mount SAC. In 1971, Chuck was drafted and sent to Vietnam, where this photo was taken. Chuck returned safely, is still one of my best friends, and I happily dedicate this 2014 recording of my Vietnam Era song, complete with helicopter gunships, jets, rockets, napalm, and a simulated newscast opening, accurately reflecting the period's sonic imagery, to Chuck and all who served in that conflict. Realizing the authentic-sounding newscast might do a War of the Worlds on todays listeners, I released the song on the Reconstructed Coffeehouse Blues album without it.
